What is a kVA Generator?

An electrical generator is used to convert mechanical kinetic energy into electrical energy.

Generators take a fuel or power source such as Diesel, Gas, Steam or even man power and convert it into electrical energy via the process of electromagnetic induction. At the heart of a generator is a principle discovered by Michael Faraday (1831-1832), Faraday’s law explained that a potential difference (voltage) is generated between opposite ends of a conductor when moved at right angles threw a magnetic field. Thus converting movement into electricity.

All our generator sets are manufactured employing the most upto date methods and quality control systems. Power Ranges from 2kva through to 3000Kva and can be delivered as 'open sets' or canopied / containerised. Most sets above 1000Kva are held in stock at our UK Depot. We only use the best components such as Cummins, John Deere, Perkins and Lister Engines. Alternators are produced in the UK by Stamford-Newage or in Italy by Meccalte.

Today Lister Engines produce some of the very best of the smaller Diesel Engines Often Lister Engines are used in for electrical generation and Lister produce a range of complete generator sets as well as exporting engines for use by other manufacturers.
